NewsJelly to Hold Data Visualization Seminar on August 22

Data visualization specialist NewsJelly announced that it will be hosting a seminar on the theme of "Data Visualization and the City" on August 22 at Content Korea Lab located in Daehangno.
Since July of this year, NewsJelly has been conducting relay seminars in collaboration with its official sponsor, DepoCus, under the theme "How Far Have You Gone with Data Visualization?" This upcoming seminar, the third in the series, will feature programs such as "The City Through Business Districts and Public Data," "Urban Life Through Tableau (a data analysis and visualization tool)," and "How Data Visualization Contributes to Society." The speakers include Kim Jaehong, Vice President of Joy Corporation; Jo Yonghyun, Head of Statistics Data at Seoul Metropolitan Government; Byun Sangpil, CEO of Woongjin Sales; and Im Jihyun, Content Director at NewsJelly.
Jo Yonghyun, the official in charge of statistical data, will explain Seoul's cases using visualized data from the Data Plaza, focusing on "The City Through Public Data." Kim Jaehong, Vice President of Joy Corporation, will present new urban analysis cases under the theme of "The City Through Business Districts." In addition, Im Jihyun, Director of NewsJelly, will demonstrate the utility of data visualization in society, particularly in addressing and preventing urban issues such as crime. NewsJelly CEO Jung Byungjoon stated, "We wanted to create a space for information exchange with experts leading the field of data visualization at NewsJelly." He added, "We dream of a society where everyone can freely use data."
Meanwhile, NewsJelly, selected for support in the 2015 Startup Development Project by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA, Director Song Sunggak), specializes in providing visual information through infographics and storytelling visual content utilizing big data. They possess a big data-specific solution for automated visualization and regularly conduct data visualization education and seminars. The Startup Development Project is a support program operated to nurture startups in the content field that integrate culture, arts, and technology. Started in 2013, this year it selected 18 startups, supporting a total of 43 companies.
